Dinosaur Day

Yes Dinosaurs were the theme for Natalie & Gary’s wedding at Offley Place near Hitchin, Hertfordshire in August 2012.

The reading during the ceremony was from this book by Edward Monkton.

It was a lovely day, so everyone could stay outside and relax in the beautiful grounds.

Natalie & Gary wanted a very relaxed day so, as with all my couples, we had visited the venue beforehand and I had taken some photos so that they were perfectly at ease. This meant that on the day instead of me taking them away from their guests for along time for a photshoot, the happy couple could have a stroll in the garden, a bit of quiet time for themselves, whilst I took pictures from a distance. This was them on their wedding day, not overly posed shots.

The staff at Offley Place did an amazing job turning the ceremony room round so quickly for the wedding breakfast.

After the first dance everyone went back outside to enjoy the warm August evening.

Then back inside for some serious dancing.

We’d heard a few disaster stories from friends about their wedding photos so we met several photographers beforehand as we wanted to get it right. Karen was definitely the best photographer we could have chosen. As soon as we met her we realised how professional she is, but also so friendly and easy going. The last thing we wanted was to feel bossed around and we knew this wouldn’t be the case with Karen. Karen was very thorough establishing exactly what sort of photos we wanted, and for us we wanted as informal as possible. We met up at the venue 1 month prior to the wedding to work out exactly where we wanted particular photos (at no extra cost). This was really helpful and Karen even brought a bouquet I could practice holding which in hindsight was such a good idea! On the day of the wedding Karen was so discreet you hardly realised she was there. After the wedding, the photos were put together in a personalised dvd case which looks absolutely stunning. Karen is amazing at capturing the moment/mood – lots of laughter shots which we love. Karen stayed until it was dark outside, which meant we got even more atmospheric photos – just great. Karen is a fantastic photographer and you really can’t go wrong if you decide to hire her for any event.
Thanks again and all the best
Natalie and Gary
